Fans invited to help shape Town’s 140th anniversary celebrations

Shrewsbury Town supporters are being invited to play a key role in shaping the club’s 140th anniversary, with a further in-person meeting set to take place tomorrow at 6pm in the Sovereign Suite.

The session, organised by supporter liaison officer Roger Groves, will build on the club’s first Fan Engagement Panel meeting held last Thursday, where initial plans for the milestone year were discussed.

The minutes from that meeting can be found at the bottom of this article.

The 140th anniversary will be celebrated throughout the 2026-27 season, with the programme of events set to begin at the club’s Open Day on Sunday, July 26.

During the first meeting, a clear vision was established, with the celebrations centred around two key strands:

  • Events and moments across the season, bringing supporters together to celebrate the club’s proud history.
  • Legacy projects that will extend beyond the anniversary year, helping to build towards the club’s 150th and beyond.

A key part of anniversary programme will also be to create meaningful fundraising opportunities in support of fan-led projects and the Shrewsbury Town Foundation.

There were a wide range of fantastic ideas shared during the first meeting.

And Tuesday's session offers supporters the chance to continue those discussions and help shape plans in greater detail from the very start of the season.

Anyone wishing to attend is encouraged to register their interest by emailing Roger at: slo@shrewsburytown.co.uk
