Shrewsbury Town under-18s chasing a second title

They secured the EFL Youth Alliance League North West Division title with a thumping 5-0 win over Salford.

And now Shrewsbury Town under-18s are on the hunt for a second title as they prepare to take on Grimsby in the Youth Alliance North Final.

It's been an outstanding season for Sean McAllister's side who came out on top following a thrilling title race with Preston North End.

And they will claim a second title if the can beat Grimsby in a match that's being hosted at Cleethorpes Town on Tuesday (Kick-off 7pm).

Should they progress, Town will earn the chance to compete for a third honour, with the North Final winners advancing to the Youth Alliance National Final.

Town secured their North West Division title on Tuesday with a brilliant win over Salford - a match that was played on the Croud Meadow pitch.

Enjoying almost complete control from the off, McAllister's side were three goals up inside the opening half-hour.

Jay Snook opened the scoring when - after seeing his initial shot saved - he ruthlessly found the back of the net from close range.

Salop then doubled their advantage when Jeval Thompson-McKenzie was slipped in on goal before calmly firing home.

Haydn Lewis then added a third, curling a left-sided corner beyond a crowded area and into the far corner.

Salop's relentlessness continued after the break - with Reuben Falding adding a fourth with a brilliant header from a corner.

Fin Tait then completed the scoring late on, finishing emphatically after being slipped through by Thompson-McKenzie.
