25/26 Retained and Released List

Shrewsbury Town can now confirm the club’s retained and released list following the conclusion of the 2025/26 season.

Captain John Marquis is among those who will leave the club this summer following two years in Shropshire.

Mal Benning, Anthony Scully, Nick Freeman, Harrison Biggins and Alex Gilliead will also leave the club following the expiration of their contracts.

Youngsters Joe Morris, Karsten Cairns, Isaac Godwin and Jack Loughran depart.

We also say a fond farewell to loanees Matt Cox, Tommy McDermott, Iwan Morgan, Ismeal Kabia, Trey Ogunsuyi, Temple Ojinnaka and Bradley Ihionvien, who have now returned to their parent clubs.

Everyone at Shrewsbury Town would like to place on record our sincere thanks to all departing players for their hard work and commitment during their time at the club. They all leave with our very best wishes for the future.

Luca Hoole, Taylor Perry and Josh Ruffels have been offered new contracts ahead of the 2026/27 season.

George Lloyd, who was out of contract this summer, has recently put pen to paper on a new deal at the Croud Meadow.

Finally, some contracted players have been made available for transfer: Tom Anderson, Sam Clucas, Ricardo Dinanga and Callum Stewart.
