Sean McAllister reflects on an outstanding season for Shrewsbury Town under-18s

Sean McAllister

Sean McAllister reflected on an outstanding season for Shrewsbury Town under-18s when he spoke to the media following Sunday’s National Final against AFC Wimbledon.

It has been a historic campaign for Salop’s youngsters, who secured the club’s first-ever EFL Youth Alliance title before adding a second honour with victory over Grimsby in the Youth Alliance North Final.

That success set up a National Final clash with AFC Wimbledon at the Croud Meadow, where 800 Salop supporters turned out to back Town’s young side.

In a closely fought encounter, a brace from Amaari Sealey proved enough to earn the visitors victory and deny Town a memorable treble.

But the result does little to diminish what has been a remarkable season for Shrewsbury Town’s academy.

Speaking to BBC Radio Shropshire’s Stuart Dunn, Sean reflected on the campaign as a whole and spoke of his pride after watching his side lift two titles during a memorable year for the club’s under-18s.
